The Islip Public Schools Office of Fine and Performing Arts and Islip High School are proud to announce the selection of 9 students to perform in a County-wide Music Festival. The New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education (NYSCAME) will hold an All-County concert at 7:30pm on November 19th, 2016 at Northport-East Northport High School.

The student musicians were selected for All-County based upon their performance at last year’s NY State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Solo Festival. Outstanding performers are then recommended by their school music teacher for All-County. The students are selected to participate from hundreds of applicants representing districts across Suffolk.

“For a small district like Islip, we are thrilled to be represented at the county level by so many exceptional musicians” stated Vincent Green, director of fine and performing arts for Islip Schools.

Students prepare for the festival with their school music teachers, and then participate in a series of rehearsals that culminate in a concert. The students will have the opportunity to perform under the leadership of highly skilled conductors from the college music community and professional music industry.
